Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit community health care system.
Client Challenges:
Expand and consolidate the current cancer treatment service line within the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) system through the development of a new, comprehensive treatment facility in Tallahassee, FL, using off-balance sheet financing.
Client Objective:
Preserve cash while relocating to a new, state-of-the-art cancer center that allows TMH to consolidate all its outpatient oncology needs into a single patient-focused center that improves clinical outcomes and the quality of cancer treatment services to the residents of the Tallahassee area.
Health Care REIT Solutions:
Health Care REIT provided 100% of the capital and comprehensive development services, including programming the facility on a new outpatient campus and managing the design and construction of the 52,412-sq.-ft. cancer center. Health Care REIT master leases the facility to TMH, which operates the radiation oncology center and subleases the second level to system-affiliated physicians for medical oncology office space.

Improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes while overcoming limited access to capital and outdated, inefficient facilities.
Client Objective:
Strengthen existing service lines and expand market share and community outreach services by transforming two land-rich campuses into progressive, patient-centric environments.

As NHCC’s master consultant, Health Care REIT is providing clinical programming, financial assessment and facility master campus planning services for multi-phased redevelopment plans by providing development and project management services and capital where appropriate. Health Care REIT will assist NHCC with the implementation of the final redevelopment plans by providing development capital and program management services as appropriate.
